I have attached my playlist of 5 songs that I feel signify gender for me the best. The first song that I put on there was "This Woman's Work by Maxwell. I feel like this song does a great job of talking positive about women and all their strengths and that is a rarity in today's music. At least to the music I hear. Nowadays there are a lot of degrading songs that I feel are disrespectful to women and I do not see how an artist could produce that kind of music. My second song is Independent by Webbie. It is a rap song that actually says positive things about women who are independent and have their own things and jobs. An independent woman is always a plus because they are not weak minded and can do for themselves and that proves that women can be equal to men. My third song is Protype by Outkast. I feel this song just reinforces the positive image of a women and needs to be heard.4th song is Diva by Beyonce. I feel like Beyonce was speaking to all the women out there with this song. And my last song was Behold A Lady by Outkast. Just another song that is positive to women and proves the fact they can be equal.
The main point I agreed with in the readings was that people will do crazy things for love. That is true because of the crazy things people do that is shown on television shows like Maury, True Life, and other reality shows like Flavor of Love, and Rock of Love. Love is crazy and I do agree that it causes confusion in peoples minds.

My major is finance/accounting. I would like to be an investment banker or be an auditor. I am still open though to doing other things and learning what I love to do, but I really love business and I see myself working in a big company in the finance or accounting division. Many of the course offerings for women's studies are interesting, but I do not know if they would have a direct impact on my major, but would be useful to take so I could be open to current issues that are relevant in today's world.
Classes such as Human Sexuality and Sociology of Family and Gender seem like they would be interesting classes to take. I do not know how much gender will play a role in my job because I feel like it is based on merit, but there is always other factors that will come into play. I honestly believe in my field that everyone, male or female, has an equal chance to do the same jobs.
My work history includes many jobs, I have worked at Champs the shoe store and seen the different aspects in regards to sales. I have been a waiter and realized that many female waitresses make more money in tips because a guy will tip a cute girl more money than a woman tipping a guy that was their waiter. I feel like men have less self control when it comes to their sexual urges. Women seem to handle their temptations better and do not lust as much. I am probably over generalizing because there are always exceptions, but I feel for the most part this is true.
As far as the readings go I feel like women should be focused on gender equality and feel like that is a good goal to try to achieve. Everyone deserves equality and should not be stereotyped or denied the same rights because they have a vagina and not a penis.

Surprisingly I enjoyed the film. I feel like all people should have the same rights and nobody is better than anyone else just because of their race or gender. Even though I am not a female I understand what it is to be discriminated on based on things that are uncontrollable. Me being a black man I have had times where I have been stereotyped or judged based on my skin color which is not right. I did not realize the struggle and the risk all of these women endured and encountered on a daily basis. I was oblivious to a lot of the women's suffrage movement because this is the first time in my life where I really took the time to get to know about the women's movement. I feel like this class will do a lot of good of opening my eyes to the whole world and many different views which will only shape me to be a better person in the future and allow myself to grow.
This movie also helped me learn to accept all people and to not judge a person because of their gender. What disturbed me the most is when the women would be marching and having parades to promote women's suffrage and the men would throw bottles and spit on them like the women were less than human. It disgusted me to see the chauvinistic views of the men back then and I feel even worse for black women. They had to fight for equal rights being a woman and then being black. They had to fight adverse conditions back then. I do not see how the women in the movie were getting thrown in jail just because they were marching and I thought that would go against the freedom of speech amendment. Not allowing the women to march and say their views is treating them like they are not human and that is not right.
The readings in Feminism is for everybody basically just discussed the beginnings of feminist movement. I agree that women are not property and that they should come together to fight their injustices. I am happy that things are starting to become more equal, but just like racism, sexism and gender differences are still not perfect and we have a lot of work to do not only in America, but the whole world.
